Conserve 32 Growth Update Forum

A community forum to keep the citizens of District 32 informed on issues affecting their district.

Scheduled forum guests include the County Executive John R. Leopold and spokespersons from the Base Realignment and Closure Committee (BRAC), the Board of Education, and a discussion of road improvements and slot locations in the District.

Conserve 32 Dinner recap

The Conserve 32 event went well last night at the Elks Lodge in Severn. The open to the public educational Forum put on by the local Republican Club ran very smooth, they had to actually bring in 2 more TABLES and stick more chairs at existing tables due to people walking in off the street from the community just to say they met the County Executive. I was impressed with the Q&A sessions with the reps from the State Highway Administration and the inspiring words from the opening speaker David Le whom delivered words that brought the house down to say the least, very well said....David Le's Mom who was in the audience, risked her life to flee Vietnam years ago. One on goer mentioned " Made us all proud to be Republicans when she thanked us", the Republican party. John Leopold's words where also inspiriting, especially when he talked of how important D32 will be in the 2010 election and his beliefs D32 can turn into D31 where all 4 seats in Annapolis are filled by Republicans. Event Host Stephen Clark Reigle and Vice President of the District 32 Republican Club spoke emotional words on why District 32 is important to him and to the future in Anne Arundel County and Maryland. The freshman club put on a very good show that was not about politics but an education forum on growth in District 32 Maryland. A district that is home to NSA, Ft Meade, BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport, Baltimore Washington Medical Center Hospital, Arundel Mills Mall and more. In 2010 I could not imagine the Republican Party not fighting hard to win at least 1 of the 4 Maryland State Legislative seats in Annapolis, after all District 32 is more moderate to conservative then liberal. After the night was over, I thought where have the 4 Democrat elected officials from D32 been as they have been absent on all subject discussed tonight including BRAC planning?
